Busy Week for the Scott County Sheriff’s Office

On March 8, 2021, Corporal James Ward initiated a traffic stop in Austin.  Corporal Ward made contact with the driver, William Hall, age 71, of Scottsburg.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Hall.  He was charged with Operating While Intoxicated.  Hall was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On March 8, 2021, Deputy Zach Brown responded to a disturbance at Colwell’s Convenience Store in Blocher.  Upon arrival, Deputy Brown made contact with Steven Burchett, age 59, of Deputy.  Burchett was not compliant with deputies on scene.  He was taken into custody and charged with Intimidation, Resisting Law Enforcement, Public Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct.  Burchett was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On Mach 9, 2021, Corporal Charlie Morgan observed Daniel Goetzinger, age 33, of Underwood, in the parking lot at the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.  It was determined that Goetzinger had an outstanding arrest warrant for Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to Another, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Escape-Flees from Lawful Detention.  He was taken into custody and walked into the Scott County Jail.

On March 9, 2021, Captain Shawn Mayer was notified of an erratic driver, who struck a parked vehicle, and drove away.  Captain Mayer was able to locate the erratic driver, Jeanne Sims, age 61, of Scottsburg.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Sims.  She was charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  Sims was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On March 10, 2021, Deputy Zach Brown initiated a traffic stop in Scottsburg.  He made contact with Brandon Stidham, age 28, of Austin.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Stidham.  He was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Cocaine or Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug-at least 10 grams,  and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

On March 10, 2021, Corporal Johnney Coomer initiated a traffic stop on Bogardus Road.  Corporal Coomer made contact with driver, Jeremy Pierce, age 45, of Seymour.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Pierce for Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving While Suspended, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Pierce was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On March 10, 2021, Corporal Johnney Coomer received a call of two suspicious individuals knocking on a door to a residence and requesting a ride.  Corporal Coomer made contact with Darion Allen, age 28, of Scottsburg.  It was confirmed that Allen had an outstanding arrest warrant for Possession of Schedule I, II, III, or IV Controlled Substance.   She was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail.
