Jerry W. Taylor, age 70, of Pekin, Indiana passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home. Born August 14, 1950, in Peoria, Illinois, he was the son of the late Charles Taylor and Mayme (Brockman) Sampson.
On May 1, 1974, he married Nancy (Carroll) Taylor who preceded him in death on August 14, 2015.
He was a retired small engine mechanic.
Jerry is survived by 2 daughters: Michelle Balentine (Richard) and Patricia Taylor (Bill Batchelor); 4 brothers: Cosby Taylor, Norris Taylor, Mick Taylor, and Marion Taylor; 1 sister: Brenda Bennett; 2 granddaughters: Elizabeth Knuckles and Lisa Batchelor; and 1 great-granddaughter: Esmerelda Knuckles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Taylor; his parents, Charles Taylor and Mayme Sampson; 1 granddaughter, Havannah Balentine; and 4 brothers.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel with Bruce Cooke officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday, May 29, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial to follow in Swayback Cemetery.
