Russell Dean Bishop, age 83, passed away November 5, 2021.
Russell was born in Washington County on March 24, 1938 to James Russell and Helen Laverne (Simpson) Bishop. He was a life-long resident and graduated from Pekin High School in 1956.
Russell was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Sue Wright and Mary Lou Denny, and his parents.
He worked a variety of jobs during his lifetime that included, Belknap, the Sears store in Salem, Mowing Crews, Norris Insulation, farming, Little Twirl and sales.
He was a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and built their current house himself.
He was also a Sergeant in the Indiana National Guard.
Russell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjene Rae (Motsinger) Bishop.
They married on September 4, 1960.
To that union was born 3 daughters that all survive him: Christina Brewer (Steven) of Salem, Myra Albertson (Eric) of Salem and Deana Moore of Livonia.
He is also survived by five grandchildren: Benjamin Brewer (Sarah), Chelsey Miller (Shayne), Todd Albertson, Adam Brewer and Elizabeth Albertson, five great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Larry Motsinger (Sara). There are also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and 10 am until the time of the service on Tuesday.
