Chester Ellis Fultz, age 100, of Salem, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Northwood Residence. Born January 28, 1922 in Salem, he was the son of the late Ellis Earl Fultz and Edith Emily (Martin) Fultz.
Chester was a WW II Navy Veteran stationed aboard the USS St. Louis; he retired from General Electric in Louisville with 27+ years of service; was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church; and attended Cross Roads Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Chris Fultz (Sharon), Wesley Fultz (Linda), Melvin Fultz (Shelley), and Marlita Bell (Jerry); his wife: Patricia (Walton) Fultz; 1 sister: Elizabeth Sedgwick; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Marjorie (Hague) Fultz; 1 son: Gary Lynn Fultz; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 1 granddaughter; and 1 great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Blue River Baptist Cemetery with full military honors.
