Mary L. Powers, age 96 of Pekin, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, in her residence.
Born March 4, 1925 in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry Edward and Mary (Sekac) Latimer.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and had been a resident of Washington County for the past 72 years, formerly of New York City, New York. She was a Girl Scouts of America and a 4-H leader.
She married Charles Everett Powers, who passed away February 3, 2004.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Betty Parker of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Peggy Powers of Salem; 2 Sons: Tom Powers of Siminole, Florida and Bill Powers of Pekin; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by: son Charles Powers, daughter Pam Landreth, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Pekin.
