E. Eugene “Gene” Miller passed from this life to the next on January 11, 2023 at his home in Sellersburg, Indiana after a brief illness.

He is the son of Elmo and Evelyn Brown Miller, but was reared by his uncle and aunt, Darrell and Wilma Miller of Pekin. Gene had several jobs during
his lifetime, including UPS driver, banker, minister, and insurance agent.

Although his jobs changed over the years, his life’s mission never did, which was to glorify God in the way he lived.

Gene’s hobbies included fishing (where he applied a strict “catch and eat” philosophy), riding his bicycle, discussing Scriptures with anyone who would listen, and eating delicious desserts made by Mary, his wife of 60 years.

Other surviving members of the family include Brian Miller (and Jennifer) of Searcy, Arkansas, Beth Miller (and Ross) of Jacksonville, Florida, Donna Norris of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Bradley Miller of Louisville, Kentucky.

His beloved grandchildren are Chase Haynes (and Rachel), Darby Gaines (and Derek), McKenzie Price (and Trey), Tennyson Douglas, Kendrick Douglas, Grant Norris, Logan Norris, and Lauren Norris.

He is also survived by six sisters and one brother; Anita Disponett, Nancy Little, Shirley Wright, Phyllis Graves, Joyce Mull (and Jerry), Cindi Arbuckle (and Brian), R.E. Miller (and Connie). Gene also had six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmo and Evelyn Miller, Darrell and Wilma Miller, and one
brother, D.L. Miller.

Gene loved his family dearly, but his greatest love was Jesus Christ.

He loved talking to people about the love of Jesus, whether it was during an individual conversation or from the pulpit of one of the local
Churches of Christ.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Child
Safety Center of White County (childsafetycenter.org), which is located
in Searcy, Arkansas and assists children in crisis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem, Indiana and from 9 am to 11 Saturday January 14th, at Big Springs Church of
Christ in Pekin, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am at the
church with a committal service to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery near Pekin, Indiana.
