Washington County Clerk Stephanie Rockey has released a list of candidates certified for the May 7 Primary election.
Only Republican candidates filed for major positions such as clerk, treasurer, recorder, coroner, surveyor, commissioner and council.
The only four Democratic candidate filings were for at-large convention delegates.
Stephanie Rockey filed to run as county clerk and is unopposed in the primary for the Republican nominee.
Mary Durbin filed to run against Republican Incumbent Nancy Coats for county treasurer for the GOP nomination in the May primary.
Shawnda Keltner is running unopposed as the Republican nominee for county coroner.
Emily Rodman will be seeking the Republican nomination for county surveyor and is unopposed.
Troy (Ozzy) Spears Jr. filed to run against Republican incumbent Phil Marshall for the nomination for County Commissioner District 1.
Tony Cardwell Jr. filed to run against Republican incumbent Rick Roberts for the nomination for County Commissioner District 3.
Five have filed to seek the Republican nomination in a field seeking three seats on the County Council as At Large members.
Incumbents Mark Bubba Abbott and Rondale Brishaber have filed to seek re-election while Todd Armstrong, Brad Gilbert and Andrew Davisson have filed to get a nomination for the Council.
Max J. Greene has filed and is certified to run in the 2024 General Election, as a Libertarian, for the office of Washington County Surveyor.
To clear up any confusion, his name will not be on the ballot until the General Election, said Rockey.
Earlier in the week Rick Voyles filed the appropriate paperwork to withdrawal his previous candidate filing for County Council. His withdrawal from the race has been filed and accepted.
