Washington County Treasurer Nancy Coats states that Sprint Property Tax Bills will be due by May 10 and were sent out earlier this month.
Residents can pay their taxes in a variety of ways without penalty before May 10.
According to Coats, cash can only be paid in person at the Courthouse or at First Savings Bank.
“Please do not pay with cash when using the drop box or mail,” noted Coats. “If paying by mail, your payment will be on time if it is postmarked from the postal service by May 10 th or November 12 th , 2024, for the fall portion.”
ALL unpaid taxes will be assessed a penalty of 5% for the first 30 days following the deadline. An additional 5% will be assessed after the 30-day period, which will total a 10% penalty.
If a taxpayer if delinquent on three installments, the property will be added to the Tax Sale.
Coats said tax statements are mailed one time each year. The statement has installment coupons for both Spring and Fall, so please put these in a safe place.
