Pennsylvania Pilot and Passengers Safe

At approximately 8:48 am, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center received a report of an air plane that traveled off the east end of the runway at the Salem Municipal AirPort and came to a rest in a soybean field.
 
Police, fire and EMS personnel responded to the call.
 
The pilot and two passengers were traveling to the Salem area from Pennsylvania.
 
The pilot was attempting to land when the plane traveled off the east end of the runway. Nobody was injured.
 
Salem Police Chief Eric Mills is working with the FAA to investigate the incident.
