Rosemary C. Carter, 87, of Salem, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Salem Crossing.  Born May 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Clara (Williams) Gordon.

Rosemary was the co-owner of Carter Cleaners in Salem, a former member of Highland United Methodist Church, and a member of Westview Christian Church.  She loved to cook, word puzzles, watching The Bold and The Beautiful, and spending time with her family.

She was a 33-year cancer survivor.

Rosemary is survived by her 3 children: Lisa Thompson, Linda Alexander (Steve), and Mark Carter; a granddaughter, Melissa Smith (Joe); and 2 great-grandchildren: Victoria Wingler and Colton Collier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Clara; a brother, Donivan Gordon; 2 half-sisters: Mildred Puglise and Virginia Nichols; and her beloved pet Simon.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 8:00 p.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Salem Chapel.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
