Two Troopers from the Sellersburg District assigned to Detective Positions

On Friday, October 31, 2025, Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott named two from the Sellersburg District to the position of Detective. Trooper Robert Caudill and Trooper Mackenzie Benham were both re-assigned as detectives at an official promotion and re-assignment ceremony in Indianapolis on Friday.

Detective Rob Caudill is a 1992 graduate of Charlestown High School and an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Caudill was appointed as a trooper with the Indiana State Police (ISP) in December 2007 and assigned to the Sellersburg Post. In his time with ISP, Detective Caudill has served as a field training officer, an emergency vehicle operations and PIT instructor, and as a member of the Meth Suppression Unit. Rob Caudill has also served on the ISP South Zone Dive Team and as a dive instructor. Detective Caudill resides in Clark County with his wife, Jeri.

Detective Mackenzie Benham

Detective Mackenzie Benham graduated from Corydon Central High School in 2008 and received her associate’s degree in office administration from IVY Tech Community College in 2010. Benham was appointed to the Indiana State Police in December 2018 and assigned to the Sellersburg Post.  Since her appointment as a trooper, Mackenzie Benham has also served as a background investigator and as a trained investigator assisting the Internet Crimes against Children Taskforce. Detective Benham is a native of Harrison County where she resides with her husband, Casey, and two daughters, Tatum and Havyn.
