Bonnie Louise Weddell Bowman, of Medora, passed away at Schneck Medical Center just a few minutes shy of her 78th birthday on December 5, 2025.
Born at the family home in Clear Spring, Bonnie entered this life on December 6, 1947. She was the last of six children born to Theodore and Myrtle (Cole) Weddell. She was the sister to Ted, Don, Alta Mae, Wanda Faye, Judy and Betty. She grew up in Clear Spring before marrying the love of her life. On July 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to Elvert Lee Bowman at her parents’ home. This union of over 56 years was blessed with children Pete and Lisa.
Bonnie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and Mamaw to her family. She was an outdoors woman in every way. She and Elvert loved the camping life and everything that goes along with camping. Playing cards with her friends and family, taking boat rides up and down the river, taking four-wheeler rides, or grabbing a fishing pole. She would always find a way to help keep the party going to make sure everyone was having as much fun as she was.
Her memories will be forever cherished by her children, Pete Bowman and his wife Trudy from Campbellsburg and Lisa Henley and her husband Rob of Medora, grandchildren, Rachel Etienne and her husband Duane, Brandy Thompson and her husband Tom, Evan Bowman, Alexandria Henley, Wade Henley, and Lytrisha Henley, great-grandchildren, Asher, Anna, Able, Gary, Paul, Jace & Josh, sisters Wanda Faye Lokey, Judy Branaman, and Betty Wilson, and a sister in law, Shari Weddell and a special friend Bob McCulley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ted Weddell, Don Weddell and his wife Donna, Alta Mae Reynolds and husband Don, and two brothers-in-law Larry Branaman, and Bill Wilson.
Funeral Servies will be conducted at Hague Funeral Home on December 10, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Weddellville Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Wednesday December 10, 2025, from 11:00 until the service at 1:00 pm.
