21 Seek County Offices in First Day of Election Filing

21 people filed today at the Washington County Clerk’s Office to seek to be candidates in the upcoming 2026 Primary Election. Of those, eighteen filers were from the Republican party. 

Races so far are for county sheriff, county commissioner district 2, county council district 3 and for Franklin Township Trustee. 

Those filing were:

Tony Maranto, County Recorder, Republican

Dan R Libka, County Sheriff – Republican
Brad Naugle, County Sheriff – Republican

David L Bower, County Commissioner, District 2 – Republican
Doug Sabens, County Commissioner, District 2 – Republican
Preston L Shell, County Commissioner, District 2 – Republican

Joshua P Hardin, County Council, District 3 – Republican
Rebecca (Becky) White, County Council, District 3 – Republican
Angela (Angie) Wilson, County Council, District 3 – Republican

Steven L Anderson, Franklin Twp. Trustee – Republican
Connie C Ray, Franklin Twp. Trustee – Republican

Philip M Incantalupo, Jackson Twp. Trustee – Republican

Jennifer M Bowers, Monroe Twp. Trustee – Republican

Marsha L. Guthrie, Vernon Township Trustee – Democrat

Joshua G Anderson Washington Twp. Trustee – Republican

The deadline to file to run as a candidate in the primary is Friday, February 6 by noon and those people will have until Friday, February 13  by noon, to file a withdrawal of candidacy for the primary election. 

WSLM will host a political forum sometime in April to educate the voters on the candidates. 

The primary election will be held on Tuesday, May 5.
