Salem PD helps in arrest of two from Scott County

Thursday morning detectives from the Indiana State Police with assistance of U.S. Postal Inspectors, Federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agents and officers from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and Salem City Police Department, arrested two individuals from Scott County.

Officers placed Robert E. Lee, 38, from the Bellevue Drive address in Scottsburg, under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony. Angela Lee was also placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony. Both were incarcerated at the Scott County Jail awaiting their first court appearance. 

The investigation began when a tip was given to detectives from the Indiana State Police of an alleged large amount of suspected Methamphetamine being delivered to Scott County. Officers from the various agencies set up surveillance at a residence located on East State Road #56 east of Scottsburg.

Shortly after midnight, officers made contact with a female at the surveilled residence identified as Angela Lee, 35, from Bellevue Drive in Scottsburg.

When they made contact with her they recovered over one pound of suspected Methamphetamine.

Officers then continued the investigation by going to Angela Lee’s residence located on Bellevue Drive in Scottsburg.

At the residence officer’s confronted Angela Lee’s brother, Robert, and seized over $9,000.00 dollars in U. S. Currency and Methamphetamine.

Excise Officers Cite 50 at Warped Tour Concert

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (July 7) – Indiana State Excise Police cited 50 people on 51 charges at Thursday’s Warped Tour concert at Klipsch Music Center.

 28 – Juvenile Possession of Tobacco

12-Drug-Related Offenses

10-Illegal Possession or Consumption of Alcohol

1-Possession of False ID

As the enforcement division of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, the primary mission of the Indiana State Excise Police is to promote public safety by enforcing Indiana’s Alcoholic Beverage Code. While excise officers have the authority to enforce any state law, they focus primarily on alcohol, tobacco and related laws.

Washington County 2014 Plat Book Now Available

Who owns Washington County? Thousands of people have a piece of it, and they are listed in the new plat book published by the Purdue Extension – Washington County with Mapping Solutions. The 2014 book is available for purchase for $30 at the Purdue Extension – Washington County Office, 806 Martinsburg Road, Suite 104, in Salem. Plat books can be mailed for an additional $5 charge. Large premium wall maps are also available for $40. One wall map will be given away in a drawing. Anyone interested needs to sign up in the Purdue Extension – Washington County office by July 31st.

The spiral bound book features landownership maps of Washington County.  These maps include the property boundaries for all rural parcels within the township, the name of the owner and the number of acres owned. Also, there is a handy landowner index for easy cross referencing. Due to the large number and small lot sizes, the book does not include those maps of landowners within Washington County towns, villages and cities.

Also found in the new edition are a county road map and road index as well as municipal maps for Campbellsburg, Fredericksburg, Hardinsburg, Salem and Pekin. Information about the Purdue Extension – Washington County and an explanation of the  public land survey system are handy additions.

This information is valuable to anyone with a need to know who owns land in Washington County. Prospective or adjoining property owners, hunters, foresters, timber and petroleum industry personnel, emergency services and many others would be interested in having a copy.

The Purdue Extension – Washington County office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. It is located on the lower level of the Washington County Government Building. Purchases may be made with cash or check.
