A 47-year-old Evansville man was found dead Friday after a monthly long search after his family had reported him missing on Dec. 10, 2022.
A male matching the description was located inside the vehicle.
On Friday at approximately 12:00 p.m., Indiana State Police Detective Toni Walden was searching along Old US 41 south of CR 150 South when she located a 2017 Toyota Avalon under a bridge.
On Saturday, January 21, Gibson County Coroner Barrett Doyle identified the person in the 2017 Toyota Avalon as Brian Colbert, 47, of Evansville.
An autopsy was also conducted, but the results are pending.
Colbert was employed at Toyota Boshoku in Princeton and was last seen at a coworker’s residence in Princeton on December 9.
He was also last seen driving his maroon 2017 Toyota Avalon.
Family members reported the incident to the Evansville Police Department, but the investigation into his disappearance was turned over to Indiana State Police since Colbert was last seen in Princeton.
Indiana State Police believe that sometime during the evening on December 9th, Colbert was traveling south on Old US 41 south of CR 150 South when he drove left of center, left the roadway on the east side, dropped down into a deep ravine, overturned, and entered Pigeon Creek near the bridge.
Anyone traveling on Old US 41 would not have been able to see the vehicle.
Detectives also believe that when the creek level increased due to recent rainfall, the vehicle moved under the bridge making it even more difficult to spot.

Susan Schmidt, infant daughter of Chris J. Schmidt and Christina S. (Swartz) Schmidt, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville. She was born January 19, 2023 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her parents, Chris and Christina Schmidt, and 1 brother, Ernest C. Schmidt.
Private services will be held with burial to follow in Franklin Amish Cemetery; Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral care.
John A. Moore, age, 59 of Salem, passed away Thursday, January 19 at his home.
Mr. Moore was born March 26, 1963, in West Point, Mississippi to Joe Alan Moore and Annie Goodson Frye. John was retired from Indiana University Southeast as the Technical Director for the Paul W. Ogle Center.
John is survived by his wife: Christina Procell Moore. They were married March 30, 1996. She is also survived by five sons: Shea Moore (Autumn) of Sellersburg, Kristian Moore of Salem, Barry Moore of Salem, Seamus Moore (Cynthia) of Hudsonville, Michigan and Jeffrey McElhinny (Lynsie) of Brookville, Pennsylvania, one daughter: Shandi Moore of Salem, his mother: Annie Frye of Jackson, Mississippi, a brother: Barry Moore (Cathy) of Bloomington, two sisters: Sallie Moore of Bloomington, and Mary Beth Mikolaitis (Pete) of Bloomington, 8 grandchildren and a niece: Lily Mikolaitis.
He was preceded in death by his father: Joe Alan Moore.
Kenneth Max Boling, age 80, of Salem, passed away Friday, January 20 at his home.
Boling was born December 22, 1942, in Salem, Indiana the son of Alfred L. and Stella Medlock Boling.
He worked at the Salem Police Department for 32 years, 18 of those as police chief.
After retirement from the police department, he worked as bailiff for the Washington Circuit Court.
He was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church and attended Mt. Tabor Christian Church.
He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Boling is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Souder Boling of Salem, one son: Chris Boling (Brenda) of Salem, a granddaughter: Natalie Boling (Chris Hubbard) of Salem, and a sister: Mary Mead (John) of Salem.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.

Robert E. Geralde, age 91 of Salem, Indiana passed away Wednesday,January 18, 2023 at 1:32 pm, in his residence.
Born February 10, 1931 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the lateCharles E. Geralde and Mabel E. (Davis) Geralde.
He was a life resident of Washington County, a 1949 graduate of SalemHigh School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 1959 before earning his Master’s degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Salem MasonicLodge #21 F. & A.M.
He retired as a Manager of Engineering from the old Hawk Precision
Components Company in Campbellsburg and was a former employee with the
old North American Aviation, RCA, Winslow Construction, Gould and Helsel
Manufacturing.
On January 1, 1950 he married Dorothy Jane (Farlow) Geralde, who passed
away October 16, 2015

Daughter: Robin (Dirk) Melchior of Avon, Indiana, Son: Jeff (Rhonda)
Geralde of Salem, Granddaughter: Elizabeth Geralde of Salem and Step
grandson: Jake L. Heart of Salem.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister: Betty J. Holsapple.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr.
Steven Gorman officiating.
Visitation: 3 to 6 pm Sunday and 10 am to 11 am on Monday.
Interment will follow the funeral at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem
Robert Henry Poole, 73, of Ramsey, Indiana passed from this life on January 16, 2023 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth, Indiana. Robert was born on April 5, 1949 in Depauw, Indiana to the late Thomas J. and Hallie A. (Weaver) Poole.
Robert was of the Christian Faith.
He is survived by his bonus mom Mary E. Poole; a brother Jerry Adams; sister Pamela Lockhart; nieces, nephews, and cousins, also survive.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, after 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am, all at the funeral home.
