Donna C. Reilly, age 73, of Borden, passed away Thursday, September 15 at University of Louisville Hospital.

Mrs. Reilly was born September 8, 1949, in Fern Creek/ Jefferson County, Kentucky the daughter of Frank H. “Bill” Link and Bertha Covington Link.  She was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1967. 

She was an executive secretary for Thomas Lighting for 16 years and then retired from P.C. Building Supply. 

She was President of the Salem V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of Pekin Saddle Club.

Donna is survived by her husband:  Mike Reilly.  They were married February 15, 1996. She is also survived by four daughters:  Laura Schook (Joshua Pearman) of Greenville, Indiana, Stephanie Day of Borden, Jennifer Schook of New Albany, and Keri Westmoreland (Anthony) of Sellersburg, a sister:  Mary Lee Fehler (Garvin) of Okolona, Kentucky, six grandchildren:  Todd “T.J.” Day, Morgan Robinson (Marc), Ryan Day (Adrea), Alexis Dahl (Peter Sinclair), Hayden Fell, Mallory Ramsey, and Audrey Ramsey, and one great-grandchild:  Foster Day.  She was preceded in death by one brother:  Robert “Bob” Link, two sisters:  Ann Cambron (John) and Patricia “Patty” Cambron (Jerry), and her parents.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 24 at 1:30PM at Weathers Funeral Home, 106 S. Shelby St. Salem, Indiana 47167. 

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00AM-time of service.

William “Todd” Campbell, age 56, of Salem

William “Todd” Campbell, age 56, of Salem passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. 

Born October 19, 1965 in Salem, he was the son of the late William Campbell and Roberta (Reynolds) Campbell who survives.

Todd was an engineer; was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church; member and Past Master of Salem Masonic Lodge #21 and Rob Morris Lodge #282; member of Salem Chapter #286 Order of the Eastern Star; member of the former Salem Order of Demolay; member of Mitchell Lodge #228; member of Salem York Rite; member of the Scottish Rite Valley of George Rogers Clark and Thrice Potent Master of the Lodge of Perfection; member of the Cary York Rite College #207; member of the New Albany Preceptory Yeoman of York #7; member of the Bedford Commandry #42; member of the Knights of St. Andrew; member of the Murat Shrine and LA-OR-MA Shrine Clubs; member of the Campbellsburg Fish & Game Club; member of the Indian Creek Shooting Center; a life member of the NRA; and member of the Delaney Creek Watershed Conservancy District.

He is survived by his wife, Shenan (Smith) Campbell; his mother, Roberta Campbell; and 2 daughters, Brittany Robbins (Joseph) and Alexandra Beck (Gabriel).

He was preceded in death by his father, William Campbell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Salem Chapel with Bro. Toney Voyles officiating. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Masonic services conducted at 7:00 p.m. 

Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mt. Vernon Father Arrested for Neglect Causing Death

A death investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police and Mt. Vernon Police has resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Mt. Vernon father.

Arrested and Charged was Devin Morrison, 26, Mt. Vernon, IN

  1. Neglect of a Dependent causing Death, Level 1 Felony

On Thursday, September 8, at approximately 7:49 a.m., Posey County 911 Dispatch received a call from a residence located at 405 East 5th Steet in Mt. Vernon requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive ten-month-old child.

Posey County EMS arrived at the residence and transported the female child to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where she died later that day from her injuries.

According to detectives, the child had signs of trauma and the nature of her injuries were suspicious.

An autopsy was conducted Monday, September 12 at the Vanderburgh County Morgue.  According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office, the child died from a subdural hemorrhage due to multiple skull fractures. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. 

This afternoon at approximately 12:19 p.m., the father of the child, Devin Morrison, 26, was arrested at his residence without incident and taken to the Posey County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.

Madison Woman Arrested on Numerous Theft Related Charges

Today, September 15, 2022, a Jefferson County, Indiana woman was arrested on numerous theft related charges following an Indiana State Police investigation that began in February 2022, after a woman reported a family member had stolen thousands of dollars from her.

The investigation by an Indiana State Police detective revealed that Sherri L. Dorten, age 41, Madison, Indiana had been stealing money from a relative over a period of nearly four years.

Evidence indicated that Dorten assumed the identity of the victim where she then obtained a loan and filed bankruptcy in the name of the victim. 

She additionally withdrew money from ATM’s and wrote checks from the victim’s bank accounts. 

In total, Dorten obtained thousands of dollars fraudulently by taking advantage of the family member.    

At the conclusion of the investigation, the case was submitted to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office for review. 

As a result, a warrant was issued for Dorten on charges of Defrauding a Financial Institution, Identity Deception, Theft, and Corrupt Business Influence. 

Dorten turned herself in to investigators at the Jefferson County Jail this morning.  She was placed under arrest and incarcerated pending her initial court appearance.

Deanna Lynn Zink, age 63, of Jeffersonville

Deanna Lynn Zink, age 63, of Jeffersonville passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Zink was born April 23, 1959 in Salem the daughter of Ernest “Ernie” Zink and Mary Jane Wells Zink.

She retired from the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville. She was a member of High Street Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband: David Sheets, a brother: Gary Don Zink, and her father. She is survived by her mother: Mary Jane Zink of Salem.

Cremation was chosen a graveside service will be held at a later date.  

Tonya Sue Blevins, age 54 of Salem

Tonya Sue Blevins, age 54 of Salem, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Born June 13, 1968 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Linda (Cole) Cleek.

She was a retired 911 dispatcher with the Washington County Sheriff
Department after 13 years and was a former employee of the old
Childcraft Industries.

She was a member of the New Beginning Baptist Church, had been a life
resident of Washington County and was a 1986 graduate of West Washington High School.

On May 29, 1988 she married Larry Wayne Blevins, Jr., who survives.

Also surviving are: Son: Jordan Blevins of Salem; Daughter: Autumn
Blevins of Salem; Mother & Stepfather: Linda and David Dotson of
Campbellsburg; Stepmother: Terry Cleek of Salem; 3 Sisters: Shonna Cleek
of Jasper, Bobby Jo Cleek of Campbellsburg and Faye Cleek of Salem and 4
grandchildren: Harley, Grayson, Eric and Jose.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and 9 am until the time of the service on
Tuesday.

Marlene J. “Doodie” (Stroud) Green, 85, of Milltown, Indiana died on September 12, 2022 at Harrison Springs Health Campus.  She was born on September 8, 1937 in English, Indiana to the late Leo and Sylvia (Bye) Stroud.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and reading.  She was a member of the Milltown Christian Church and a graduate of the English Sterling High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James E. Green on August 17, 2021, by her brothers, Jack, Darrell, and Harold, and Edward Stroud and by her sisters, Helma Mae Seacat  and Thelma Faye Goss.

She is survived by her son, Mark Green, brother, Terry L. Stroud (Patsy), and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Milltown Christian Church.  Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the Brown Funeral Home and on Saturday after 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am, at the church.

Bro. Jim Smith and Pastor Delvin Sweeney will officiate the service.
