Judy F. Hale, age 75, of Salem
Judy F. Hale, age 75, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, January 14 at her home.
Mrs. Hale was born August 12, 1949, in New Albany, the daughter of Charles Bagshaw and Nora Lewellen Bagshaw. She was a member of the Christian Church in Westwood, Kentucky.
She is survived by two sons: Brent Martin (Melissa) of Borden and Jason Hale (Angel) of Cecilia, Kentucky, a daughter: Dawnice Sohl (Chad) of Campbellsburg, a brother: Carl Bagshaw of Salem, a daughter-in-law: Suzanne Hale of Henderson, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Gary E. Hale, a son: Josh Hale, two brothers: David A. Bagshaw and Francis “Sonny” Bagshaw, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 20 at Weathers Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10AM—time of service.
John F. “Charlie Brown” Helton, 78
John F. “Charlie Brown” Helton, 78, of Fredericksburg, Indiana died on January 6, 2025 at the home of his caretaker. John was born on January 31, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Fred and Mildred L. (Roth) Helton.
John retired from Phillip Morris.
He is survived by his sister, Janet Claypool; and caretakers, Jason and Lindsey Embry and Cindy Hurt.
John chose cremation and a memorial service will be on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Grace Tabernacle Church- Crawford at 108 1/2 Church Street, Milltown, Indiana 47145.

Jimmie R. Adam, 77, of New Salisbury
Jimmie R. Adam, 77, of New Salisbury, Indiana died on January 8, 2025 at Baptist Health- Floyd. Jimmie was born on September 6, 1947 in Ramsey, Indiana to the late Robert William and Margaret Elizabeth (Beal) Adam.
Jimmie was employed with General Electric for over 37 years, as a forklift operator and serving as a Union Steward. Jimmie was a Christian believer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vernice Adam; brother, Gary Sizemore; sister, Donna Lee Myers; and her nephew, Mike Myers.
He is survived by his step daughters: Brenda L. Kemp (Marty) of New Salisbury, Indiana, Margaret Sizemore (Farris) of Corydon, Indiana, and Lisa Devore (Doug) of New Salisbury, Indiana; step son, Mikel Sizemore of New Salisbury, Indiana; niece, Missy Myers of New Salisbury, Indiana; and numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana 47145.

Doris Jean Newby, 70
Doris Jean Newby, 70, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehab in Leavenworth.
Born April 12, 1954, she was the daughter of the late James and Geraldine (Sanders) Perry.
Doris was a home health CNA for 15 years, a custodian for West Washington Schools for 13 years, and the former President of the Salem Eagles Club.
Doris is survived by her children: Larry Perry (Michelle), Hope Newsome, and April Green (Jeff); 2 brothers: Timmy Perry and Rocky Perry (Missy); 5 sisters: Janice Roberts, Patricia Burdine, Tammy Reed, Mary Perry and Melody Perry; 4 grandchildren: Myra McKinney (James), Larry Perry Jr (Kalie), Tre Perry (Gene), and Harper Green; 2 adopted grandchildren: Triston Newby and James Newby; 3 great-grandchildren: Everly, Aubrea and Willow; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Geraldine Perry; and a brother, Jimmy.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 21 at 5 pm at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home – Salem Chapel.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Margie Martin, 97, of Salem
Margie Martin, 97, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Salem Crossing. Margie was born on February 13, 1927 in Okinawa, Japan. On July 28, 1953, she married Logan E Martin, who preceded her in death in 2004.
Margie is survived by her sister-in-law, Annabelle Trueblood; and her nieces: Sharon Earls and Brenda Atkins (Buddy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Logan Martin.
Cremation was chosen. She will be buried with her husband at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison at a later date.
