The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning lane and ramp closures next Wednesday night (SEPTEMBER 5), weather permitting, as Phase III of its $3.9 million project to refurbish the four Interstate 64 bridges at Captain Frank Road and Quarry Road gets underway on the north side of New Albany.
Beginning at 8 p.m. next Wednesday, the I-64 westbound ramp to eastbound I-265 will close at Exit 121. The ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning—and remain open during final-phase operations.
Beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, motorists traveling westbound I-64 will experience alternating lane closures during overnight hours between mile markers 122.5 and 120.0 where the interstate bridges over Captain Frank Road and Quarry Road. During the closure, contracted crews will initiate lane control measures to route westbound traffic onto westbound I-64’s two left lanes while closing its right lane for construction.
Ragle Inc., Indiana’s contractor, will complete patching, widening and bridge deck overlay installation in I-64’s right lane at Captain Frank Road and Quarry Road while the new traffic pattern is in effect through early October.
