‘Happy Halloween Weekends’ Return Saturday with new SCAREbnb funhouse ‘Come Alive!’ show features performers from Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana

Frankie-web.jpgHoliday World’s four holiday-themed sections will merge into a single theme starting this weekend, as the park opens its Happy Halloween Weekends on September 22.

“Holiday World is all about family fun and making memories – even during the Halloween season,” says park president Matt Eckert. “We’re not about horror – the only screams will be on our roller coasters! Starting this weekend, we’ll also have hay rides, corn mazes, Halloween-themed shows and attractions, special activities for children, and more.”

New this year is the SCAREbnb funhouse. Tour Marilyn’s Mansion to see all the creepy guests who’ve already settled in, including Frankenstein who’s stretched out and comfortable.

In addition to Holiday World’s rides and roller coasters, the park will include:

0

A partnership between the City of Salem Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police led to the arrest of 10 on drug charges Monday.

Officers executed arrest warrants and search warrants across Washington County at three locations – two in Salem and one in Pekin.

“This is the result of an ongoing joint investigation,” said Washington County Deputy Sheriff Brent Miller. “A  direct result of how well the local law enforcement work together. Our drug task forces are working very well together to try to make an impact on the drug problem in Washington County. We’re going to try to aggressively work these drug investigations with the City of Salem and State Police. This is a direct result of the good working relationship. This was a state police investigation with the help of the local drug team. I’m proud of our guys working together to make this happen.”

The first location, at 410 Baird Blvd., yielded two arrested on arrest warrants out of Washington County.

Jennifer Baker, 28, from the earlier mentioned address was arrested on six Dealing in Heroin charges resulting from arrest warrants from Washington County.

A male located in the residence, Sean Thompson, 32, also from the pre-mentioned address was arrested on two outstanding arrest warrants out of Washington County for Aiding in the Dealing of Heroin.

Along with the charges from the warrants both subjects were also charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Possession of Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

The second location investigated was 521 East Charles Street in Pekin.

Officers went to the residence to serve arrest warrants on three individuals, Gregory A. Tweedy, 59, Kathy L. Tweedy, 57 and Evan A. Tweedy, 28.

All three of the subjects resided in the residence located at 521 East Charles Street in Pekin.

All three of the residents had arrest warrants for the charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Marijuana and Cultivating Marijuana.

The Tweedys were charged with the additional charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Marijuana and Cultivating Marijuana, Evan Tweedy was charged with the additional charges of Possession of a Schedule One Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Kathy Tweedy and Evan Tweedy were arrested at the scene but Gregory Tweedy who was not home turned himself into the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

The third location was 109 Allen Court in Salem, at this location five people were arrested including Tim N. Root, 48, from 109 Allen Court, in Salem.

They were charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Karen Sue Lashbrooks, 63, also from 109 Allen Court in Salem, was charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
