Traffic Stop Yields Large Amount of Meth in Clark County

Yesterday, shortly before noon, trooper Andrew Taylor made a traffic stop on a 2005 Nissan Altima in Jeffersonville on 11th Street near Howard Avenue.

The driver, Shane L. Guthrie, 35, from Jeffersonville was stopped for the vehicle displaying a temporary license plate with an obstructed expiration date.

During the traffic stop, officers located approximately 62.37 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and approximately 7.8 grams of suspected Marijuana.

Shane L. Guthrie was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking with an Inmate and Possession of Marijuana.

During the traffic stop a white male passenger in the front seat fled the scene and was not located.

Shane L. Guthrie was incarcerated at the Clark County Jail.

Assisting agencies: Jeffersonville City Police.

C. Victor Rudder, age 92 of Salem

C. Victor Rudder, age 92 of Salem, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Vic was born in Salem on February 8, 1926, the son of Casper E. and Susie C. (Voyles) Rudder.

He graduated from Salem High School in 1944 and joined the Naving, serving in WWII. He returned to join the family firm, retiring as co-owner and president of the old Rudder Tire Service, Inc.

He was a member of the Salem V.F.W. and a lifetime member of the Lions Club International. He was a long time treasurer of the Salem Lions Club and was a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was a member of the Columbus Model A Club.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ellen M. Rudder; son, Richard L. Rudder of Columbus; daughter, Sherry A. Rudder of Salem; Grandsons: Chris Rudder of Columbus and Nic Rudder of Brazil, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Lynda M. Rudder; brothers: Robert and Paul Rudder.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steven Gorman officiating, followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation: 5 to 7 pm Wednesday and 9 am until the time of the service on Thursday.

Glenn L. Floyd, age 92 of Salem

Glenn L. Floyd, age 92 of Salem, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 10:44 am in Salem Crossing.

Born September 13, 1925 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jason Brown McKinney and Helen L. (Hilt) McKinney.

In 1940 she married Ancil B. Floyd, who passed away Sept. 14, 1978.

She was a retired employee of the old Leweb Industries and a former employee of the old Smith Cabinet and B. F. Goodrich Companies in Salem.

She was a life resident of Washington County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem.

Survivors include:
Daughter Debbie A. (Danny) Roberts of Salem;
Son: Tony W. Floyd of Salem;
8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 son: Bill Floyd, 1 daughter: Rita Hoke, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Visitation: 10 am to 2 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steven Gorman officiating. Interment and Committal will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.

Tabatha Ann Giles, age 52, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at
her home.

Tabatha was born August 25, 1966 in Topeka, Kansas.

She was
a peacetime Army Veteran, former cook at Ryans Restaurant in Corydon
and of the United Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her mother Mildred Williams Gore, step-father,
Harold Gore and a brother, Billy Gene Rowl.

Surviving are her husband, George W. Giles

1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN with burial in Davis Cemetery, New Albany,
IN.

Yvonne Marie Dickerson, age 51, passed away Monday, September 3,
2018 at Norton Hospital, Louisville, KY.

Yvonne was born March 23, 1967 at Corydon, Indiana to the late Billy and Patricia Hart Wilhite.

She was a former employee of Waffle House, Corydon and a home maker.

Surviving are her husband, Rodney Darrell Dickerson, Sr.
