Donald Franklin “Donnie” Jr, age 61 of Pekin, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2024.  Born on February 14, 1963, he was the son of the late Donald Baker Sr and Katherine (Lawrence) Allen.

Billy H. McBride, age 78 of Salem, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, in his residence.

Born October 7, 1945 in Paducah, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Minnie (Seaton) McBride.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 in New Albany and a retired electrician.

On November 30, 1963 he married Erna Kay (Ellis) McBride, who passed away June 10, 2018.

Survivors include: 3 Daughters: Teresa (Robert) Browning, Christina (Ricky) Schmidt and Angela (Daniel) Roberts;  1 Son: Brian (Tina) McBride; 2 Sisters: Marilyn Stewart and Jean Emerson; 1 Brother: Michael McBride; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Shirley Ann (Gettelfinger) Jones, 89, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away on October 3, 2024. She was born in Bradford, Indiana, on July 5, 1935, the daughter of Felix and Viola (Bir) Gettelfinger. Shirley was the co-owner and bookkeeper for the family dairy farm and a former 4-H club leader. She was an active member of the Harrison County Farm Bureau, Inc., serving as County Women’s Leader for nine years, and held various offices in the St. Anne’s Altar Society. She also attended the Senior Citizen Group at St. Michael Catholic Church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Jones; her son, Roy Jones; an infant grandson, Lee Jones; her brother, Melvin Gettelfinger; and an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth. She is survived by her four sons: Robert (Shirley), Keith (Christine), Mark (Melissa), all of Palmyra, IN, and Kevin (Jolinda) of Corydon, IN; three daughters: Ruth (Thomas) Hackman of Vallonia, IN, Anita (Dean) Stumler of Fredericksburg, IN, and Linda (Andrew) Abner of Palmyra, IN; brothers: Robert (JoAnn) Gettelfinger of Jeffersonville, IN, Ernest (Diane) Gettelfinger of Lexington, KY, and Glenn (Jane) Gettelfinger of Madison, IN; sister-in-law Kaye Gettelfinger of New Albany, IN; and brother-in-law Curtis (Bill) Utz of New Albany, IN. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren, with three on the way.

Visitation will be held at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, IN, on Friday, October 11, from 4 PM to 8 PM. Additional visitation will take place at St. Michael Church, Bradford, IN, on Saturday, October 12, from 9 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to St. Michael Church or the donor’s choice.

Brittany Reane Morris, age 45, of Salem, passed away Saturday, October 5 at home. 

Brittany was born June 8, 1979, in Salem, the daughter of Don Morris and Barbara Terrell Campbell. She was an employee of Amazon and a member of Northside Christian Church. 

Brittany is survived by her father: Don Morris of Salem, two brothers: Brian Morris and Michael Morris, both of Salem, two sisters-in-law: Melinda Sorrells and Kirstin Ratliff both of Salem, several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother: Barbara Campbell. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-6PM at Weathers Funeral Home.
