A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in Scottsburg.
The advisory was issued Saturday morning due to a water main break.
The affected areas include North Meridian Street east to the Scottsburg city limits and Highway 56 north to the Scottsburg city limits.

Summer interns INDOT is accepting resumes through Friday, Feb. 24 for more than 50 Governor’s Public Service Summer Internship positions at its offices in Crawfordsville, Fort Wayne, Greenfield, Indianapolis, LaPorte, Seymour, Vincennes and West Lafayette. Governor’s Summer Interns will spend at least 50 percent of their time on a project that enhances college-level skills and abilities. Candidates must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one year of undergraduate education. Students who are graduating in May 2017 are eligible to apply. Selected interns may pick a start and end date between May and August that best fits their academic schedule. In return, recipients will work for INDOT in a variety of full-time, paid positions during their summer breaks and upon graduation. Students must be accepted or enrolled full time in one of Indiana’s Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology certified civil engineering programs. Eligible programs include Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne, Purdue University, Purdue University Northwest, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Trine University, University of Evansville, University of Notre Dame and Valparaiso University. Mr. James E. Speer, 83 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away 1:08 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on June 25, 1933 in Bedford, Indiana the son of the late Nolan and Alma Edith (Cummings) Speer.
Jim married Loretta M. (Seidle) Speer on September 9, 1950 in Bedford, Indiana.
Jim was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church, where he played the guitar for over 40 years in the church band. He was a very active family man, he loved to hunt, fish, and travel with his wife and family. He enjoyed working in the yard, and on cars.
He retired after 43 years of service in the sand lab department, at the Golden Foundry, in Columbus.
He is survived by his six children, Charlene (Duane) Darlage, Barb (Frank) Maschino, Jim (Debbie) Speer, Jr., Bradford Speer, Wally Speer and Nathan (Candy) Speer, twelve grandchildren, Becki (Daryl) Short, Gina Darlage, Rachel (Rodney) Wagoner, Jenni Metz, James Speer III, Sara (Austin Jackson) Speer, Brad Speer, Jr., Mick Speer, Abby Speer, Audrey Speer, Nolan Speer, and Faithe Petty; and six great grandchildren, Jordan Ellis, Logan Overshiner, Reid Darlage, Dustin Metz, Rylee Jackson, and Carsen Jackson; brother Kenneth (Betty) Speer, two sisters; Sharon ( Ron ) Schrader and Karen (Leroy) Davis.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents, wife of 64 years, and his half sister Betty Dalton.
Funeral service will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Larry Dalton and Reverend Marty Speer officiating.
Burial will follow at Leesville Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Family and friends may call at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, February 4th from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday after 12 noonuntil the time of service.

Mr. Charles Harold Elliott age 86 of Palmyra passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Meadow View Health Care and Rehab.
Mr. Elliott was born April 14, 1930 in Macon County, Illinois the son of Everett and Ethel Voyles Elliott. He was a retired employee of General Electric. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a Bronze Star recipient.
Charles is survived by his wife: Margie A. Elliott. He is also survived by a son: Travis C. Elliott (Tamara Jo) of Campbellsburg, a daughter: Myra Kay Elliott Sharp of Decatur, Illinois, a brother: Carol Elliott of LaPlace, Illinois, three grandchildren: Tamara Kay Day (Terry), Mariah Jo Applegate (Nicholas James), and Wade Levi Elliott, and 2 great-grandchildren: Faith Helen Day and Andrew Lewis Day.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Lazarre Elliott, a sister: Maxine Burket, a grandson: Tice Sharp III and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7PM and Monday from 10AM-time of service.
Fannie Hammack age 72 of Salem passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Salem Crossing.
Fannie was born September 19, 1944 in Wooten, Kentucky the daughter of Earl and Jennie Hendricks Edwards. She was a retired employee of Child Craft Industries and a member of Smedley Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons: Allan Hammack of Pekin and Anthony Hammack of Bloomington, a brother: Orie Del Edwards of Salem, five sisters: Earletta Baker of New Salisbury, Kathy Cornett of Kneavy, Kentucky, Carolyn Cornett of Wooten, Kentucky, Yvone Combs of Wooten, Kentucky and Dina English of Kneavy, Kentucky, a granddaughter: Alyssa Hammack and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Josh Coles officiating. Burial will follow in Central Barren Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8PM and Sunday from 9AM-time of service.
Police have narrowed their search in a hit-in-run accident with an Amish buggy that took place early Monday morning on Blue River Road. They are now looking for a silver or gray Honda car.
According to Washington County Deputy Sheriff Brent Miller, “We are looking for a driver, who left the scene of [the] accident. The driver is believed to have been driving a late 90’s model Honda passenger vehicle, silver or gray in color with an orange license plate on the front of the vehicle with “Kubota” on the license plate.”
The accident happend on Monday, January 30, according to Miller. The crash was reported around 1:49 AM and occurred near 12510 E Blue River Road.
Deputy Lucas Gray received information that an Amish buggy with two occupants were traveling south on Blue River Road, when a vehicle rear ended the buggy.
The impact ejected both occupants and caused the buggy to flip upside down.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and left the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported.
He said the department is actively searching for the vehicle in Washington County.
Anyone who may have information regarding this leaving the scene of an accident is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Department at 883-5999.

Indiana head football coach Tom Allen announced on Wednesday the signing of 23 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play for the Hoosiers in 2017.
IU signed 12 defensive players, nine offensive players, one athlete and one punter. The Hoosiers added five defensive linemen, four defensive backs and three linebackers on defense, and three offensive linemen, two running backs, two wide receivers, one quarterback and one tight end on offense.
The class features players from Australia and eight different states, including nine from Florida, six from Indiana, two from Georgia and one each from Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin.
Linebacker Thomas Allen (Tampa, Fla./Plant H.S.), defensive lineman Juan Harris (Janesville, Wis./Parker H.S.), offensive lineman Tyler Knight (Clearwater, Fla./ Northside Christian School), linebacker Mike McGinnis (Allentown, N.J./Allentown H.S./ASA (N.Y.) College) and punter Haydon Whitehead (Melbourne, Australia/ McKinnon Secondary College/Swinburne University of Technology) enrolled in classes this semester and will participate in spring practice.
“We are very excited about our 2017 signing class,” Allen said. “It is full of young men of high character, high academic focus and tremendous on-field talent that we believe will be the catalysts to help us break through.
“Offensively, we were really looking to shore up our offensive line and we are very excited about the group that we brought in. They are young and talented and can be developed. We were also looking for a couple of running backs that could give us the burst that we were looking for and receivers that can stretch the field and change the game. Ultimately, we needed to get a quarterback in here that can compete right away and to be a guy that we will look to be a future leader of our program. We feel that we accomplished that.
“Defensively, we had a heavy emphasis on the defensive line and linebacker play. We are really excited about the size and length of the guys that we were able to attract. They will be able to develop into a very formidable defensive unit in those two core areas upfront. In the secondary, we addressed our needs at corner. We added some length and athleticism both at the corner and safety positions. There will be some playmakers back there. They did a great job of making plays all through high school and we know they will continue to do the same here at Indiana.”

The Scotts Reds Rally Pack entertainment squad is looking for new members for the 2017 season.
Members of the Scotts Reds Rally Pack are true ambassadors for the Cincinnati Reds at both Great American Ball Park and out in the community.
The co-ed Rally Pack performs various tasks at all Reds home games including t-shirt launches, birthday package deliveries, prize giveaways, staffs carnival-style games in the Kroger Fan Zone and assists with promotions performed live on the ballpark’s video boards.
The Rally Pack also makes appearances at community events and activities around Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
