Dillon Timothy Scott, 37, of Paoli
Dillon Timothy Scott, 37, of Paoli, passed on March 19 at his home on the Scott family farm.
Born March 11, 1987 in Bedford, Indiana.
He was the son, and first-born child, of Tim Scott and Lisa (Reynolds) Scott.
He was a graduate of Paoli High School, Class of 2005.
He worked in directional drilling for HSI.
Dillon enjoyed being outdoors and doing outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.
He also enjoyed playing his guitar, a hobby he picked up in his teenage years, and he continued to play throughout the rest of his life.
Dillon loved his dog, Murphy.
He also loved and enjoyed spending time with his companion, Bri Marden and her young son Jaxton.
Dillon was a simple man who led a pretty simple, but happy life.
He was a son, big-brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and so much more to so many.
Dillon is loved tremendously.
He is gone too soon and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and other loved ones.

Also surviving him are nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal Grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W Campbell Street, Paoli, IN 47454.
Interment to follow at the Stamper’s Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the funeral home and from 9 am until the time of service on Saturday.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Orange County Humane Society.

Thomas L. Harlan, 74, of English
Thomas L. Harlan, 74, of English, Indiana died on March 19, 2024 at his residence. Thomas was born on July 31, 1949 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Thomas L. Harlan Sr. and Loretta (McGill) Harlan.
Thomas was a mechanic and served in the United States Army National Guard.
He is survived by his sons: Mark A. Smith of Taswell, Indiana and Thomas Leroy Harlan Jr. of English, Indiana; and sisters, Brenda, Patty, Angela, and Doretta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene (Norman) Harlan; his parents; and brothers, Paul and Tommy.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Bethany Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the funeral home.
Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the service.
Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana is entrusted with the arrangements.
Delilah E Byler, age 7, of Scottsburg
Delilah E Byler, age 7, of Scottsburg passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
Born July 30, 2016 to Noah R Byler and Lydia (Schwartz) Byler.
Delilah is survived by her parents: Noah and Lydia Byler; 2 brothers: Jake E Byler and Noah E Byler; 4 sisters: Lizzie E Byler, Lydia E Byler, Emma E Byler and Clara E Byler and 4 grandparents: Reubein J Byler, Delilah A Byler, Enos L Schwartz and Lizzie W Schwartz.
Private service to be held with burial at Amish Cemetery.

John Steven Apple, age 71 of Salem
John Steven Apple, age 71 of Salem, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at U of L Health – Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born June 26, 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Dr. Eddie Ross Apple and GeorgeAnn (Pope) Apple.
John was a life resident of Washington County and a 1970 graduate of Salem High School. He went on to attend Indiana University, Bloomington.
On May 17, 1998, he married Barbara S. (Mauck) Apple.
He was the manager of the Salem Lanes and Restaurant until the flood closed the business.
In 2006 he opened Pig Miracle BBQ and Catering to pursue his passion in barbecue and catering. He owned and operated Pig Miracle until the day he passed.
Survivors include:
Wife: Barbara S. (Mauck) Apple,
Daughter: Ashley Apple (Ford Taylor IV) of Borden, Indiana;
Son: Jabin Apple of Salem, Indiana;
Sister: Susan Apple of Butlerville, Indiana;
Sister: Marsha Meadows of Salem, Indiana;
Stepson: Steve (Amy) Kost of Salem, Indiana;
Stepson: Kevin (Chandra) Kost of Corydon, Indiana and his dog Nelson.
Grandchildren, Travis (Mazie Lyles), Aiden, Adalie and Lanie Taylor; Jackson and Harper Apple and step grandchildren, Jordan and Zander Kost.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sally Apple and stepson John Kost.
Visitation: 2 pm to 6 pm Saturday March 23 and 10 am to 1 pm Sunday March 24 at Dawalt Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Sunday at Dawalt Funeral Home with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
