The concert adds to an exciting weekend in Louisville, as the Saturday night show is one of the marquee events of the 145th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits.

More than 70,000 fans packed the KFC Yum! Center for four Garth Brooks’ concerts April8^th and 9^th. Fans came out in record numbers to support the artist, who had not played in Louisville in 18 years. The two double headers make the first time an artist has performed more than one show consecutively at the KFC Yum! Center since it opened in October 2010.

The concert attracted numerous fans from outside Louisville. The sold-out 7 pm show Saturday attracted 65 percent of the fans from cities outside Louisville and Southern Indiana, including Indianapolis, Chicago, Lexington and Cincinnati, among others, while the other three shows drew more than 50 percent of their attendees from outside of the Louisville area.

“On behalf of Garth’s entire crew, I’d like to thank the fans in Louisville for making the four performances there truly memorable,” said Ben Farrell, with the Brooks’ organization. “We are extremely appreciative to the KFC Yum! Center employees who worked tirelessly to make sure every aspect of the event went smoothly.”

KFC Yum! Center staff spent countless hours planning and preparing for the back to back performances, even staging a mockup event in advance of the concerts to develop the most efficient plan to get fans in and out of the building between shows.

And the support from Brooks’ promoter Varnell Enterprises, Louisville Metro Police, the Parking Authority of River City andlocal media to develop and communicate the plan aided in its success. The result was one of the quickest turnarounds between shows on Garth’s entire tour.

Jackson County Police continue to investigate the death of a man who collapsed on Saturday while working for a contractor inside an empty storage tank at Enterprise Products Partners LP.

Police say 43-year-old Daniel U. Sweatt of Henderson, Kentucky and several co-workers had been sweeping up dust and debris on a floating roof inside the tank at the business when he collapsed.

His fellow workers with Summit Environmental Services of Evansville told police that Sweatt had been sweeping and sat down for a moment to rest. He then got up and began sweeping again and collapsed.

He was treated at the scene for a medical condition before he passed away and was taken to Schneck Medical Center. An autopsy was performed Monday and those results are pending.

The business is located at 10197 E. County Road 1000 North and provides energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, crude oil and refined products, and petrochemicals.

Kyle Parker, 22 of Spencer was arraigned last week in Owen County add additional criminal charges were added relating to the murder of Baby Shaylyn Ammerman.

Those charges were;

• Murder IC 35-42-1-1 (1) Level 1 Felony
• Rape IC 35-42-4-1 (a) (1) and IC 35-42-4-1 (b) Level 1 Felony
• Child Molesting IC 35-42-4-3 (a) and IC 35-42-4-3 (a) (1) Level 1 Felony
• Kidnapping IC 35-42-3-2 (a) and IC 35-42-3-2 (ab)(2)(B) Level 3 Felony
• Aggravated Battery IC 35-42-2-1.5 Level 1 Felony
• Strangulation IC 35-42-2-9 (b) Level 6 Felony
• Obstruction of Justice IC 35-44.1-2-2 (a) (3) Level 6 Felony
• Failure to Report a Dead Body IC 35-45-19-3 Class A Misdemeanor

The charges were read to Parker via a video conferencing feed from the Owen County Jail. An attorney was appointed by Owen Circuit Judge Lori Thatcher Quillen. A plea of not guilty was entered into court’s evidence and a date was set for a future hearing.

Although the Indiana State Police do not anticipate any additional arrests regarding this case, the case is still under investigation. Investigators continue to follow up with interviews, re-interviews, video documentation and evidence collection.

Again, the investigative side to this case could take several days or even weeks to complete.
