Memphis Couple Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A Memphis couple was found dead Friday in an apparent murder-suicide, according to

Colonel Scottie Maples, Public Information Officer of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Found dead were Ronald and Amylyn Slaymaker. No ages were given by police. 
 
Though the investigation is still ongoing, initial evidence leads investigators to believe Ronald Slaymaker shot Amylyn Slaymaker with a single gunshot, where Ronald Slaymaker then committed suicide with a single gunshot.
 
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was requested to check the welfare at a residence in the 5800 block of Harmony Woods Dr., Memphis, Indiana on Friday.
 
The request came from a family member who had received information there had possibly been a domestic violence situation at the residence, where a male subject, identified as Ronald Slaymaker, who had murdered his wife and was planning on taking his own life.
 
Upon arriving, officers were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence.
 
Officers made entry into the residence, where they found Ronald Slaymaker and his wife, Amylyn Slaymaker deceased.
 
No further information can be released at this time, pending the results of a scheduled autopsy.
