Leontina A. Marino, age 90 of Pekin, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 6:15 pm, in the Floyd County Memorial Hospital. Born April 22, 1925 in Niagra Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Anna (Palmisano) Luciani.
She was a former Snack Shop Manager and Pet shop Owner in Newfane, New York, was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and had been a resident of Washington County since 1974 formerly of Newfane, New York.
She was a member of the Pekin Senior Citizens Club, served as a Polk Township Inspector and wrote for the Salem Leader & Democrat from 1983 to 2001.
She married April 20, 1949 to Michael Marino, who passed away July 12, 1993.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Elizabeth Sites, Chapman, Kansas and Nancy Shambach, Lockport, New York; Stepdaughter: Rose Marie Shelton, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada; 2 Sons: Michael G. and John Marino, Pekin; 3 Sisters: Rose Mary Merriman, Charlestown, Angeline Phillips, Niagra Falls, New York and Joan Mudd, Pleasure Ridge Park, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, 1 step daughter, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Father Louis Manna officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Fridayand after 9 am Saturday.
Interment at Olive Branch Cemetery.
