The Indiana Department of Transportation will limit traffic to a single lane this week at the State Road 135 bridge that spans the Ohio River near

Motorists will be directed—one direction at a time—by flaggers.
INDOT bridge engineers and technicians will be on site with reach-all trucks, man-lifts and other equipment to make close-up fracture-critical inspections above, below and on the 2-span steel truss structure that measures 3100 feet—end to end. These routine inspections occur every two years.
S.R. 135’s southbound lane is scheduled to be closed Monday and Tuesday (MAY 18 & 19) between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The northbound lane is expected to close Wednesday and Thursday (MAY 20 & 21) during those same hours. If bridge inspections can be accomplished sooner than anticipated, the timeline for lane closures will be shortened. All work is weather-dependent.
This S.R. 135 bridge at Mauckport is the only Ohio River crossing between Louisville and Tell City. It was first opened to traffic in 1967.
