Four Washington County teens were injured Friday night in an ATV accident near Pekin, while sending a 58-year-old man to jail for operating an ATV while under the influence.
Keith D. Williams, 58, had been operating an ATV while pulling a wagon behind with several children riding on it. He was charged with Operating at ATV under the influence of alcohol, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Police arrived at 280 Shorts Corner Road, Pekin after the call came in at 7:49p
According to Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Naugle, Williams was pulling a wagon through a field behind the ATV when the wagon became detached. The wagon dropped suddenly to the ground and threw the children off the wagon.
One female, age 11, was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville with a leg injury. Another female, age 11, was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital with a possible back injury.
One female, age 12, was transported to Kosair’s by Washington County EMS with facial injuries. An 11-year-old girl was taken by Washington County EMS to Kosair’s with possible back and neck injuries.
None of the children were wearing protective gear.
Conservation Officer Philip Nale, Air Methods Air Ambulance and the Indiana State Conservation Office was involved in the accident.
