Emma Jean Miller Fouts, 94, born December 3rd, 1921 in Corydon, daughter of the late Emil G. Miller, Sr. and Ethel Crabtree Miller, has died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Crandall in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 14th.

She was an employee of the Farm Bureau Insurance Agency before becoming a homemaker and was a devout Seventh Day Adventist, active in the New Albany SDA Church prior to a recent decline in health that kept her from attending services.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Bill Fouts of Crandall, daughter, Sherry Davis of Crandall, and son, Dallas Fouts of Milltown. Survivors also include granddaughters, Alicia Green of Perris, CA, Angeline Delgado of San Diego, CA, Penny Padgett of Jeffersonville, Crista Davis of Crandall, and Lacy Phillips of Jeffersonville;

grandson, Aaron Fouts of Hayden, ID; great granddaughters, Faylyn Minzenberger, Payton Delgado, Dagny Delgado and Alaina Padgett; and great grandsons, Collin Phillips, Noah Padgett and Dominic Delgado.

She was preceded in death by sons, Leland Fouts in 1982 and Larry Bill Fouts in 2012; sister, Crystal V. Miller in 1998; sister, L. Iolene Niles in 2002 and brother-in-law, Charles Nile in 1979; sister Iva “Loraine” Shaffer in 2013, brother-in-law, Hobart “Bud” Shaffer in 1997; brother, Emil G. Miller, Jr. in 2012 who went by the nickname “Junior” and sister-in-law, Rowena Cunningham Miller in 2007.

Visitation will be held at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Monday 1 P.M. to 3 P.M.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 3:00 P.M. with burial at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall.
