Crash Closes I-65 South at 29 Mile Marker

This morning at approximately 10:35 am, a 2005 Peterbuilt semi-tractor pulling a car hauler loaded with nine new Toyota cars was south bound entering the construction zone near the twenty mile marker.

accident-road-jpgThe trailer dropped off of the right side of the road and the driver over corrected hitting a concrete barrier that was being used to separate north bound and south bound traffic.

When the semi-tractor and trailer hit the concrete barrier it turned over blocking the south bound lanes along with one of the construction detoured north bound lanes on Interstate #65.

The driver, Keenan S. Daniels, 44 years old from Cheltenham, MD was not injured. The truck was enroute from Grand Rapids, MI to Mt. Joliet, TN.

No other vehicles or drivers were involved in the crash.

Traffic is being routed off of the Interstate south bound at Exit #29, Scottsburg. Traffic is able to re-enter the Interstate at Exit #19, Henryville.

The interstate will be closed for an extended amount of time, (until late evening hours). All local traffic is encouraged to avoid the interstate using alternate routes of travel.
