James E. Spurling III, 37, of Marengo, Indiana, passed away on August 8, 2026. James was born on May 28, 1989 in Corydon, Indiana to James E. Spurling II and Mindi L. (Shipman) Spurling- they survive.
James was a carpenter/ handyman and was formerly employed with Carroll’s Handyman and Renovations, LLC. James enjoyed anything outdoors, being that of fishing, kayaking, working on vehicles, or working on building projects.
James is survived by his father, James E. Spurling II (Georgia) of Tell City, Indiana and mother, Mindi L. Spurling (Steve Doezema) of Depauw, Indiana; brothers, Steven Edward Spurling of Marengo, Indiana and Robert James Spurling of Tell City, Indiana; sisters, Carlee Burton of Tell City, Indiana, Breanna R. Bayre of Palmyra, Indiana, and Kaitlin M. Owens of Paoli, Indiana; 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
Funeral services will be on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EDT at the Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. EDT and after 9:00 a.m. EDT until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, all at the funeral home.
