Bonnie Lou Reathaford, 80, of Orleans, passed away peacefully at 11:23 AM on
September 7, 2016 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
She was born January 20, 1936 in Martin County, the daughter of Nathaniel and
Bernice (McCracken) Stringer.
She married Dennie Reathaford on June 7 th 1952 and he survives.
She was an active member of the Orleans Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed
growing flowers, reading, crossword puzzles and making quilts. She loved visiting
with friends and family, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband
Dennie, the love of her life, sitting on their front porch. She took great pride in
her children and grandchildren and was not only a loving wife, mother and
grandmother, but also a best friend.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dennie Reathaford of Orleans; two
daughters, Linda Scarlett (Jim) of West Baden and Vivian Rogers of Ormond
Beach, FL; one son, Mike Reathaford (Renee) Reathaford of Orleans. Six
grandchildren, Chris Scarlett (Ruthann), Josh Reathaford, Jordon McPherson
(David), Cody Reathford (Kiesha), Kristen Rogers and Brittany Cropley (Dale). Six
great grandchildren, Katie Scarlett, Allie Scarlett, Jayden and Brynlee McPherson,
Chase and Gage McPherson. Five step grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren; one sister-in- law, Mahala Kinser (Bob) of Bloomington, IN; several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Barbara Hallaway, who are
awaiting a joyous reunion.
The funeral will be on Saturdayday, September 10, 2016 at the Orleans Church of
the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in
Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.
Friends are invited to visitation at the church on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
