A driver was arrested on alleged intoxication charges after she was involved in a Wednesday afternoon crash in southwest Dubois County.
At 1:27 P.M. Wednesday, Justin Hinton of Kentucky was sitting in his semi tractor- trailer on the shoulder of State Road 161, south of Holland, awaiting roadside service for two flat tires.
Eighteen year old Kassandra Berger of Holland was traveling north on State Road 161, when she allegedly fell asleep and drove her vehicle off of the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking the parked semi.
Berger was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper where she was treated for complaints of pain.
While at the hospital, Berger tested positive for the presence of THC in her system.
She was placed into custody and transported to the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Operating While Intoxicated.
Berger’s 2008 Toyota was totaled in the crash.
