Rain, Flooding and More Storms Predicted for Weekend

Strong to severe storms will be possible Saturday night into early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.

The main threat will be damaging wind.

Some hail and flash flooding will be possible with this system as well.

There is still some uncertainty with the evolution in timing and locations of this system so be sure to stay up to date on the latest forecast.

Very heavy rainfall is possible with storms this weekend, particularly Saturday night to Sunday morning.

According to NWS, 1 to 3 inches of rain will be possible through the weekend.

Flooding is particularly a concern in areas which have had heavy rain over the last couple weeks. The Salem area received about 6 inches of rain last Friday afternoon in less than an hour, causing severe flooding. 

Since then, the WSLM listening area has received another 1.5 inches of rain. 

The biggest threat for these storms in the Kentuckiana area are:

A couple of rounds of showers and storms expected through the weekend

Each round will bring a threat of strong to severe storms and heavy rainfall.

The greatest threats are damaging winds, and very heavy rainfall Saturday night.
