James Ward Weir, Sr., age 81 of Salem, passed away Saturday, April 17,
2021 at 3:05 pm, in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany.
Born September 11, 1939, in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the
late Ward E. and Cletis Mae (Cuppy) Weir.
He retired from Cummins Engines and Haas Trucking Company and was a farmer.
He was a member of the Church of God in Scottsburg, had been a life
a resident of Washington and Scott Counties and was a 1957 graduate of
Salem High School.
On August 24, 1957, he married Donna Lee (Loy) Weir, who survives.
Also, surviving are: 5 Daughters: Sherri Sevier, Norma Jackson, Julie
White, and Peggy Vincent all of Salem and Terri Hounshell of Scottsburg;
2 Sons: James Ward Weir Jr. and Dennis Ryan Weir of Salem; 1 Sister:
Sharon Miller of Scottsburg; 15 grandchildren, several step
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.
There will be private family services and interment will be in Beech
Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Dawalt Funeral Home
