William H. Berry, age 82 of Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in his residence.
Born October 20, 1939 in Columbia, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rollie and Mary Leona (Flinchun) Berry.
On May 6, 1972 he married Shirley (Lane) Berry, who passed away March 9, 2013.
He was a minister for over 50 years at the New Salem Church of God and Saltillo Christian Church and He also retired from the Brown and Williams Tobacco Corporation in Louisville. He had been a resident of Washington County since 1948, formerly of Columbia, Kentucky. He loved praising the Lord with his music and traveling the United States on his motorcycle with Shirley.
Survivors include: 3 Sons: David L. (Debbie) Berry of Salem, Danny H. (Maxine) Perry of Knoxville, Tennessee and John F. (Gina) Perry of Pekin; 3 Daughters: Cynthia L. (Shayne) Keene of Avon Park, Florida, Suzette L. Broady of Sellersburg and Betty P. (Donnie) Jones of Scottsburg; 3 Brothers: Roy C. Berry, James A. Berry and Doyle R. Berry all of Campbellsville, Kentucky and 1 Sister: Morine Ettel of Clarksville.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Joseph R. and Albert H. Berry.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday, December 30th at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by interment in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and 9 am until the time of the service on Thursday.
