Wayne Edward Wesner, age 95, of Salem, Indiana passed away very early in the morning on March 18th at his home surrounded by his family.

Wesner was born December 21, 1929 at home on the farm Northeast of Campbellsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Oscar and Zenobia (Martin) Wesner.

He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, he was a member, Elder, and song leader at Mt. Tabor Christian Church and was a former Elder, song leader and member of Walnut Grove Christian Church in Salem for many years.

He was also a Sunday School leader to young adults for many years.

He served as Madison Township Trustee and a Registrar at Wonder Valley Camp for many years.

He also farmed with his father Oscar and worked at Salem Creamery for 10 years.

He was the Minister for Trinity Springs Church for two years and then served as a fill in preacher. Wayne attended Louisville Bible College for two years.

After leaving the Salem Creamery he returned to farming, hauling animals for the Amish, planting, harvesting, and tending to his own herd of pigs. He enjoyed being outdoors, caring for livestock, catfishing, caving, telling a good story, and spending time with family.

On November 27, 1949 he married Juanita Peevler who passed away December 12, 1964. They had a son: Stephen Wesner.

On November 24, 1967 he married Betty Ann Hunter Wesner who survives. He is survived by his children: Stephen and Sue (Ross) Wesner of Moscow, Idaho, Julie Wesner of Salem, Indiana, and Christopher and Donna (Hypes) Wesner of Campbellsburg, Indiana. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jennifer and Robert Murphy, Paul and Katherine Wesner, Heather Wesner, Arien and Keith Wisley, Kaitlyn and Taylor Brown, and Kristen and Seth Jerrell, and eight great-grandchildren: Amelia Brown, Adaline Wisley, Nora Brown, Elaina Wisley, Juliet Wisley, Henry Brown, Lorelei Wisley, and Lydia Brown.

He is preceded in death by his three siblings: Christine Tippin, Mae Lee, and Ellis Wesner, and a granddaughter: Ariel Wesner.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday at Weathers Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7PM and Friday from 10AM-until time of service at the funeral home
