WSLM 1220 AM first aired on February 14, 1953 and was licensed to Don H. Martin. It first aired with 250 watts, then was increased over the years to its current 5000 watts.

WSLM 97.9 FM was first aired in March 1994 and is licensed to Rebecca L. White. It’s original call letters WDHM (named after her father) were changed in 1993 when WSLM 98.9 FM was sold to Clear Channel. The call-letters were switched to 97.9 FM.

The stations have been simulcasted since 1993 and continue to be largely be simulcast today with the exception of sports and local programming.

97.9 FM is the Louisville and Southern Indiana affiliate for Indiana University football and basketball, all divisions of NASCAR, Indy Racing and the Indianapolis Colts. Local high school sports are also broadcast in season as well as Indiana Sports Talk on Friday and Saturday evenings along with the local weekly sports show, Coach’s Corner.

97.9 FM is the official Home of the Salem Lions.

1220 AM is the Southern Indiana affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds and also brings local high school sports are also broadcast in season as well as Indiana Sports Talk on Friday and Saturday evenings along with the local weekly sports show, Coach’s Corner.

1220 AM is the official Home of the West Washington Senators.

1220 AM devotes Sunday programming to local and regional religious programs from 5a through 6p.
