Earl L. Stewart, age 91, of Borden, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany. Born April 10, 1930, in Salem, he was the son of the late Sherman Stewart and Fern (Mantooth) Stewart. On July 22, 1972, he married Judith M. (Alexander) Stewart who survives.
Earl was an Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War; was a retired employee of New Hope; was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Stewart; 4 children: Connie Hurst (Stanley), Aundray Stewart (Tanya), Missy Chappelle (Kevin), and Calvin Stewart; 3 step-children, Saundra Sajek (Jim), Pam Rutherford (Paul), and John Lovell; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 7 step-grandchildren, and 8 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, 1 grandson, 1 stepson, and 1 step-grandson.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 5:00 PM at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home-Borden Chapel.
A viewing will be Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery with full military honors.

Carl Bailey Payne, 77, of Orleans, passed away at 4:16 AM on August 17, 2021, at IU Health Paoli Hospital.
He was born August 25, 1943, in Palmer, TN, the son of Buddy and Lucy Mae (Green) Payne.
He married Terry (Kroushaur) Payne for over four-seven years and she survives.
He owned Payne Vending for over thirty years. He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, going to yard sales and auctions and he was a workaholic.
He is survived by his wife, Terry of Orleans; five children, Carly Payne of Gruetli Laager, TN, Shannon Fravel (Doug) of New Salsberry, IN, Jason Payne of Gruetli Laager, TN, Jared Payne (Lynn) of Gruetli Laager, TN and Tosha Grassman (Andrew) of Paoli; thirteen grandchildren; four siblings, Kenny Payne, Rachel Burnett, Jewell Wells, and Charles Payne.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hershal Payne.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans with Pastor Thomas Bostic officiating.
Friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 until service time.

Robert Erber, 88, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Paoli Health & Living. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 1933, to William and Lydia Kiener Erber. Robert married Mary Janice Wolfe and she survives.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paoli. Robert enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and loved Christmas parties.
Survivors include:
Wife: Mary Janice Erber, Paoli, Indiana
Daughter: Lori Grandsard, Garnerville, Illinois
Stepdaughters: Sharen McMasters, Oroville, California
Marsha Sweesy, Hardinsburg, Indiana
Sister: Arlene Lis
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive Robert Erber.
Cremation was chosen with memorial services to be held at a later date.

Junior Wells, age 81 of Salem, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, in his residence.
Born September 29, 1939, in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of the late Callie Wells Sr. and Lillian (Tincher) Wells.
He retired in 1999 from Midwest Natural Gas and served for many years as a volunteer with the Salem Fire Department. He served in the Armed Forces in the U.S. Navy had been a life resident of Washington County and was a member of the Salem American Legion Cecil Grimes Post #41 and the Salem V.F.W. Post #6636.
On March 18, 1999, he married Lori (Zink) Wells, who survives.
Also, surviving are: Daughter: Cindy (Jeff) Ribelin of Salem; Stepson: Tyler Hoke of Salem; Son: Jeff Trenary of Cripple Creek, Colorado; 3 Sisters: Doris Steward of Little York, Carolyn Fultz of Salem and Patricia Crum of Pekin; Grandchildren: Tera Mull, Sara Jo Burgan, Emily McDonald, Derek Ribelin, Lacey Burgan, Kirsten Quick, Kyra Macintyre, Kalli Quick and Kaden Martin and Great Grandchildren: Khloe Mull, Maci McDonald, Braxton McDonald, Adam Mull, Brady Briscoe, Trace Davis, Tatum Davis, Jakob Wells, Ila MacIntyre, Zander Wright, Theodore McCoskey, Jaxon Schneck, Rayna Jo Clark, Liam Ribelin, Cyrus McGinnis, and Evie
McCoskey.
He was preceded in death by 1 son, David D. Wells, and 1 daughter, Katie Wells.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation: 9 am until the time of the service on Wednesday.
