James “Randy” Carroll departed this life on May 31, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1946, in Columbus, Indiana, to Almon and Gladys Huff Carroll.
On August 12, 1972, he married the love of his life, Joyce Mull Carroll, who preceded him in death in 2005.
In 2007, he met his second great love, Rebecca Money, and together they shared nearly twenty years filled with love, laughter, and life.
Randy was a dedicated funeral director, graduating from Mid-America College of Mortuary Science in 1984, with Joyce to follow in 1985. He fulfilled his dream working side by side with his wife as they managed three funeral homes, faithfully serving the families of their community.
Later in life, Randy embraced a new adventure: driving a semi across the country. He loved the open road, the changing landscapes, and the opportunity to witness the beauty of God’s creation from coast to coast until his retirement.
He lived a life grounded in devotion, generosity, hard work, resilience, and an unforgettable sense of humor. Randy never met a stranger and touched countless lives with his warmth and kindness.
He is survived by his six children: Terry Carroll of Bowling Green, KY; Lisa (Mark) Pickett of Columbus, IN; Cindy (Joe) Leon of Kenosha, WI; Mary (Jason) Brown of Columbus, IN; Jason (Angela) Carroll of Salem, IN; and Jennifer (Tony) Willett of Bardstown, KY; as well as his sweetheart, Becky Money.
